Bluefield High School Tackles Engineering Problems for MCOH

March 21, 2018 By Emily Ross

Bluefield Highschool students have tackled two engineering problems for Mikinduri Children of Hope.  Mr. Jeff Carragher’s grade 12 physics students were asked to design three devices:
1) A sieve to filter the water from Lake victoria coming into the newly installed pipelines.
2) A compostable toilets that separates stool from urine.
3) A gravity-fed irrigation system for the school garden.
The students worked together to come up with several designs for the projects.  The MCOH team is thankful for the dedication that the students have shown as they worked to improve quality of life for people in Kenya.
Thank you, physics students!
