The Story of the Soccer Ball, Bondo 2018

On Saturday Feb 4,2018, the team drove to Bondo  for a couple of nights.  At the hotel we were staying, we saw in the distance a group of kids playing soccer.  A team member had brought donated soccer balls to give to the kids.  We decided we should visit them and take one over to them.  We walked over and all the kids gathered around.  They were as excited to see us, as we were to see them !!!  I had kicked the soccer ball to them and oh the excitement and smiles on their faces.  Within minutes there were more kids of all ages gathered around and came to see us.

They gave us all “high fives” and thanked us for the soccer ball.

All the kids had been using was a handmade soccer ball they made with old rags weaved up and plastic to keep it together.

It was very rewarding to visit the kids and see their smiles and showing of their soccer skills.

A little gift of a soccer ball will not be forgotten on both ends.
