Tip2Tip4Africa Cycling Ride Huge Success!

Thanks to everyone who joined in the Tip2Tip4Africa, cycling across PEI on Thanksgiving weekend! We raised a great amount of money for the Township Project and Mikinduri Children of Hope!

Congratulations to Art Buote who received the prize for top fundraiser in the 2011 Tip 2 Tip – a 32” flat screen TV donated by Leon’s.  Art raised $2090 for the cause this year.  Congratulations Art!!

4th Annual Stratford Rotary Run – Sept 4th

Sunday, September 04, 2011, 08:00am – Metro Credit Union in Stratford

Registration is at 8 am with the 5K walk/5K run/15K run starting at 9 am. The registration fees are as follows: $10 for the 5K walk or run, $15 for the 15K run or $20 per family. Following the race join us for African food, refreshments, African music and door prizes. African wood carvings, jewellery and artwork will be given away as door prizes and also available for purchase. Major sponsor is Stratford Metro Credit Union. All proceeds go to support Mikinduri Children of Hope Foundation, a PEI based charity that does poverty and health relief work in Kenya.

Tip to Tip for Africa Oct 8 2011

This annual 3 day bike event will be held October 8 – 10 on PEI’s beautiful Confederation Trail – from Tignish to Elmira. Registration is $200 per person which includes all meals & accommodation for 3 days & 2 nights as well as great Island entertainment. Transportation from Charlottetown to the trailhead on Saturday and return on Monday is also included. Each rider must raise $600 in donations ($400 for students) which goes to support Mikinduri Children of Hope and The Townships Project, two registered Canadian charities doing poverty relief work in Africa. Mikinduri Children of Hope Perennial Plant Sale will be held Sat. May 28th from 8am-12 noon at the Experimental Farm (off Mt. Edward Rd). When: Sat May 21st at 9.00 am,
Where: Williams Murphy Macleod parking lot on Mt Edward Rd, across from Campbell’s Concrete products.
