2009 Mission Trip News
As some of you already know, there is a group of 21 volunteers headed to Mikinduri and surrounding areas, to among other things provide medical, vision, and dental clinics to the people of Kenya that are less fortunate than us. One group of volunteers left Tues and another group left Thurs. These wonderful volunteers pay 100% of their own expenses.
Incase anyone isn’t familiar with our Mission trips and are curious about why some of the volunteers are in wheelchairs, (and every trip is the same) here is the reason. The wheelchairs are being taken to the those in need and if the volunteers sit in them, it doesn’t cost any money to ship them!! Thanks Harding Medical Supplies.
Some of the things on the agenda for this Mission Trip in various locations (each teams agendas vary):
- Vision, Medical, and Dental clinics
- Nutrition presentations and testing
- Assist Coulson Orphanage and Children of Hope and present them with your donations
- Various Agricultural projects and assessments
- Official opening of the sewing centre.
- Official opening of a new water well.
- Meeting children and their families from Mikinduri area that are sponsored through Chalice
- Official opening of the Chalice office.
- Official opening of the Kenoe Feeding centre.
- Well drilling assessments
- Official opening of the Kagwuru water pipeline.
- School visits and assessments.
- Various meetings with committees, groups, and volunteers.
